Currently in love with Keds shoes. Yes shoes again! You can never get enough of shoes right ladies? lol. Keds’ collection’s to die for and I so want a few pairs. Yes, a few pairs! Keds’ designs and colours are attractive and vibrant and of course, appealing, at least to me it is heh. Here are the Keds shoes that have stolen my heart at first sight:

Pilates.

rfd190.jpg
So what is pilates and how do you do it? Does pilates really do your body good? From what I know, pilates is a physical fitness and a method to use your mind to control your muscles and breathing. Why the sudden curiosity? It’s really because I just discovered my sister in law’s pilates book (Body Control The Pilates Way by Lynne Robinson, as the tiny picture above) and actually, for the first time after flipping through the book, ever since the whole pilates hype’s been going on, I took some interest to try it out (since I seem to have all the time in the world right now).

Again, the question, does it really do the body good? Madge’s been doing it and she’s got a banging body for her age, so yeah, this is a must try though I’m not a fan of this sort of workout (or any lol), but I’ve gained a hell lot of weight again and I feel crappy every time I put on my old clothes with all the unwanted bulges hanging about my hip, and so I thought, it’s time I put an end to it. And I guess I better start going on the treadmill again *cringes*. Argh I hate this!

Arctic Monkeys.

I am absolutely in love with Arctic Monkeys’ music and lyrics. Their music’s different from other bands out there right now, though some people think otherwise and can’t actually accept the band’s music. Arctic Monkeys, they rock hard and their music’s so refreshing and new and I love it. Arctic Monkeys is a four piece band from Sheffield and and the lads, they’re about 21 to 22 years old and born and raised in Sheffield. Front man, Alex Turner, even sings in his native (Northern) accent and I have to admit, the first time I listened to “I Bet That You Look Good on The Dance Floor”, I had to listen to it for a few times, and hard, to actually make out what the heck is he singing about (I could not be bothered to Google for their lyrics, at the time). After that, the rest’s history, I was hooked and perhaps, for life.

The band rose from being a newcomer in the music industry to being a household name. Fan base was built on the internet, after they handed out free demo CDs at gigs circa 2003. Their music was put on the web for people to hear. That’s even before they were signed to any record label. The next thing they know, people were singing along to their songs at gigs. They’re perplexed at how such thing is even possible and was wondering, “How the hell did they know??”. Of course, at the time, they had no idea about their Internet fame.

They have just released their second album in April this year, 15 impressive months after the release of their first album “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not”. Smart move I must say, as the earlier they release a new one, the lower the expectation from the fans they have to satisfy. The second album’s entitled “Favourite Worst Nightmare” and it’s really anything but, nightmare. This album sounds more matured, sometimes softer, sometimes louder and more ambitious compared to the first album, but all in all, in my opinion, the album definitely highlights a very different side of Arctic Monkeys that some might not know of and is acceptable to their fans, including myself.

My favourites out of the new album are 505, Teddy Picker, Do Me a Favour, Old Yellow Bricks, If You Were There, Beware and Fluorescent Adolescent. Truth be told, the last band that I’m this obsessed with is Nirvana and that was about nine to ten years ago. So go and check Arctic Monkeys out ;)

Ghosts and ghouls.

Edited by my lovely and talented, yet older and more matured looking than her auntie, niece, Ila. Even when we both look like a pair of hungry zombies, or scary ghosts, she still looks older. And Ila, if you ever read this, you know it’s true right? Lol. Ghosts and ghouls hmmm.

Beach.

Friends and I went to Port Dickson last two weekends and we had fun sunbathing at the beach near our apartment. There was of course barbecuing in the night and the splish splashing at the pool in the morning, followed by the swimming session in the sea. I learnt to do the opposite of floating in the water. Can you figure it out? hahah. You have to know the technique to do it. K, below are some pictures. I’m too lazy to upload the rest. And believe it or not, it was my first time there hahaha. View it, clickety click!

Being Twenty Four.

It has been four days since I turned 24. 29th of January this year, has marked the number 24 on my forehead and mind you, I think it’s visible enough to attract unwanted attention from passersby, be it the ones I know or don’t. It’s up to you how you want to visualize how the marked number 24 looks like on my forehead (I envision it to burn quietly there). Some did say, “hey, you don’t look it so quit worrying”. I don’t care what they say, they’re my friends, it’s their honorary duty to lie to your face just to make you feel better isn’t it?

What I can tell you is that, 2007 started off with a bang and the bang was when I lost my cell phone. Yea, it’s shitty enough that I was left cell phoneless just 15 days into this glorious new year, I had to turn 24 on the 29th day of it too. But I guess, the upside’d be my new cell (refer to the entry below please, thanks) that my brother got me and presents I received from the best friends and of course, the “discreet” celebration with them and the family on the night of the 28th, of which was organized by my family.
I am definitely a year older, but I still feel and act like I’m 10 years younger but at the same time, wiser than a 50 year old. It’s a weird combination, I know, but that’s how being 24 to me (so far, at least). Friends been asking me how does it feel like being 24, and I never came up with any good answer till just now. So to the next person who were to ask me the question, I would answer the aforementioned sentence of the weird combination and that’s final.

Here’s a picture from the said fiesta:

Samsung cell phone.

I lost my Samsung SGH-P850 cell phone last week. Left it in a friggin cab and of course it was already gone by the time anybody could do anything about it. Got a new one last weekend, thank God. It’s a Samsung SGH-Z370, 3G, slimmest in the world right now (8.4 mm), light as a feather (71 g) with 2.0 megapixel camera, 1G memory card and the works. Though my Samsung SGH-P850’s camera’s 3.2 megapixel, I love this one nonetheless haha. The graphic’s wicked cool and it’s black! Thanks mr. slamberjo for the rocking new cell. It’s hot hot hot!

Taaadaaa!

On to less cheerful topic, assignments, presentations and quizzes. I hate ‘em all. I ditched a few classes yesterday and today just to be home early cause I just don’t feel like attending any of ‘em classes. I don’t have the mood. I am very, very, VERY bothered right now. Blame it on the menses. It’s my second day of suffering so there.

Eeeps! Hanis is on her way over. Gotta go and get ready! Ta people!

Food. New Year’s Eve.

I love food, food is good. Here are some pictures of the foods we had, grilled, cooked and the works, by Chef Aidy of Shook! Kuala Lumpur.

The food were fantastic, the crowd were ecstatic and enthusiastic to have been served such luxurious foods. My niece, Ila and I molded the burger patties ourselves and my sister in law, cooked the pasta. I don’t know what the pasta is called but there were sun dried tomatoes and roasted chicken in it and as for the rest, the chef is to be credited.

The drink is a fusion of concentrated mango and orange juice and topped with diced watermelon. And the Waldorf salad, whoa, yummy!

There were three types of sauces for the steak, grilled lamb and chicken. One was made from lamb stock and the other’s made from mushrooms stock. As for the other one, I can’t seem to recall so am sorry hehe.
